Novatech’s Digital Transformation: A Strategic and Technological Vision by Tink
Context
A national leader in the manufacturing of doors and windows, Novatech has been experiencing steady growth driven by an expanding customer base and several recent acquisitions. However, this success also came with multiple, sometimes disparate, management systems, which complicated information flow and hindered operational efficiency.
To optimize its internal processes and support its expansion, Novatech needed to harmonize its data environments and standardize its processes to make them more efficient. The company also aimed to leverage its data more effectively to enhance the user experience, enabling customers to track orders, view production timelines, or quickly access product information.
Mandate
In this context, Novatech entrusted our team with conducting an in-depth analysis and strategic planning process aimed at mapping the existing architecture, identifying pain points, and defining a more modern and efficient target architecture.
Beyond technical execution, the mandate involved guiding the company through a deeper reflection centered around one key question: how to transform disparate environments into an integrated ecosystem capable of supporting business growth and delivering a unified digital experience to its customers?
To achieve this, we implemented a consulting-driven approach, drawing on our expertise in business analysis, digital strategy, solution architecture, and UX/UI design to develop a realistic, scalable roadmap aligned with the organization’s priorities.
Objectives
- Define a sustainable and scalable technological architecture capable of supporting Novatech’s growth;
- Identify a modern, flexible, and cost-effective content management system (CMS);
- Recommend a product information management (PIM) system to centralize and enrich product data;
- Simplify and automate data exchanges to improve speed and reliability;
- Establish an implementation roadmap that combines quick wins with long-term, high-impact initiatives.
A Five-Step Project
1. Discovery of Data Environments
The mandate began with a comprehensive analysis of Novatech’s data environments to map the flow of information between its various systems (website, client portal, internal tools, etc.). This analysis was complemented by meetings with the company’s different departments and plants to fully understand their specific realities and incorporate the concrete needs of all stakeholders.
Through this process, we identified redundancies, inconsistencies, and friction points that were slowing operational efficiency and limiting the quality of the digital experience.
Result: Novatech now has a clear and well-documented view of its current architecture, enabling more informed strategic decisions and better planning for future developments.
2. Updating the Digital Strategy
Building on the findings from the first phase, we analyzed the existing digital strategy to ensure it remained realistic and viable in light of the observed data flows. This process allowed for strategic adjustments to ensure that the desired user experience vision stayed aligned with the organization’s technological capabilities.
In parallel, we facilitated a series of workshops with Novatech’s IT and marketing teams to translate these strategic directions into clear, actionable operational objectives.
As a result, Novatech now has an updated digital strategy supported by a clear roadmap to guide its technological choices and sustain its ongoing growth.
3. Target Technological Architecture
Building on this strategic vision, our solution architects designed a modular and scalable architecture aimed at ensuring seamless communication between systems and maintaining consistent, reliable data. We also provided a series of recommendations regarding the selection of a content management system (CMS) and a product information management (PIM) platform to support the future growth of Novatech’s digital ecosystem.
This process laid the technical foundation for Novatech’s future digital platform, ensuring performance, scalability, and information consistency across all channels.
4. Preliminary Design
Based on the defined technological architecture, we assisted Novatech’s teams in developing mock-ups and prototypes to bring their future digital experience to life. The goal was to translate the technical and strategic directions into clear, consistent, and user-centered interfaces.
These designs included:
- Page templates adapted to different types of content (detailed product sheets, FAQs, news, video tutorials, retailer lists with interactive maps, etc.);
- Features enhancing navigation, such as a search engine with autocomplete and filtering options;
- Modules supporting engagement and conversion, such as a geolocation tool and an appointment booking form.
This stage allowed Novatech to validate its functional and aesthetic choices prior to development, ensuring that every element met the real needs of its customers.
5. Requirements, Specifications, and Technologies
Following the approved recommendations and decisions, we carried out a consolidation process to gather all the technological requirements needed for the project. These included:
- The functional and technical needs identified to support the digital platform;
- The integration specifications between the various systems;
- The technological recommendations to ensure the performance and scalability of the digital ecosystem.
Subsequently, two implementation scenarios were proposed, allowing Novatech to choose between a rapid start to deliver results as early as 2025 or a longer timeline beginning in 2026.
A Clear Game Plan for a Well-Targeted Digital Transformation
Thanks to the in-depth work carried out with our team, Novatech now has a clear vision of the evolution of its digital ecosystem and a detailed action plan to bring this transformation to life.
Our multidisciplinary approach made it possible to align technology and user experience around shared goals. With Tink as its partner, Novatech now has all the tools it needs to modernize its platforms, improve operational efficiency, and prepare for a smoother, more personalized, and cohesive online experience.
