COVID-19: The Digital Shift Is More Relevant Than Ever

April 8, 2020

As a digital agency partnered with companies that provide essential services to the community, Tink continues to play an active role during these difficult and unusual times.

It would be unrealistic to say that things will return to normal and that businesses won’t be seriously affected. Consumer behaviour is changing, expressions of public solidarity are becoming a regular occurrence, and we’re spending more time online than most companies could ever have predicted. Life just two or three weeks ago already feels very distant, as if it occurred in an entirely different world.

The question we need to ask ourselves today is, how do we adapt to the new digital reality? How do we look ahead and anticipate the future as much as possible?

A Strategy Based on Flexibility and Adaptability

For a company, having an adequate business strategy in times of crisis means several things:

  • Identifying and knowing how to respond to different scenarios that could affect your business
  • Reviewing your digital strategy to ensure it meets customers’ needs and expectations in a context of isolation
  • Determining how much flexibility to give your community manager when answering customer queries via social media, your website, etc.

Now is the time to focus and remember your mission and core values, the only certainties in these uncertain times. You should also go over your current initiatives and any upcoming ones that were planned months in advance. Right now, promotional offers and scheduled posts might seem out of touch and do you more harm than good.

Placing Digital at the Heart of Your Business Strategy

Despite what’s happening around the world, we are fortunate to live in a connected society. Through virtual interactions, we’re still able to share genuine moments that remind us of what matters most.

Harnessing the full potential of digital technology to deliver a quality experience to your customers requires technical know-how, people skills, and internal resources. These three elements are the foundation of a coherent and successful digital strategy.

A Tailored Customer Experience

Society has adapted remarkably well to the current situation, and so can your business. There’s always a way to get people inspired. How can you emerge stronger than ever? How can you communicate an optimistic and unifying message?

Keep in mind, however, that if you change your content strategy or key messaging, you have to live up to your claims. A company can’t boast about offering round-the-clock after-sales service on its website if it isn’t actually available 24/7. You need to think critically about the experience you provide your customers: What are their expectations? Their needs? Their intentions? Their concerns? How can you help them? Technology is useful only if it brings value to the end customer.

A Partner You Can Count On

At Tink, we don’t pretend to have all the answers to COVID-19. At the same time, we approach each day with an understanding that our clients are always changing. We’re used to dealing with companies undergoing multiple transformations by bringing an external, objective perspective, as well as our 25 years of digital expertise, to the table.

Today, COVID-19 is a catalyst for this inevitable process of transformation. We will do everything in our power to make sure you can continue to count on us—and to be part of the solution so we can get through this ordeal together!
